Having spent time with midwives in Guildford a few weeks ago on the March With Midwives UK, Angela Richardson knows that adding to their number is a priority.
The government was clear in its manifesto about the need to recruit more people to take qualifications in nursing and midwifery.
So when the opportunity arose in Parliament to follow up on the question of how many nurses have been recruited, Angela was keen to get an update.
She said: "The minister's response recognised the significant progress being made towards this - and the priority being given to it.
"There is still work to do of course and I am keeping watch on that work as I promised I would."
