Angela had a fantastic time on Friday at Guildford High School learning from pupils there about their work on oracy - the skill of being able to express yourself well.
Headteacher Fiona Boulton and her team explained to me how the school has taken oracy into its curriculum in the same way as numeracy and literacy. Angela then had the opportunity to join some lessons to hear and see for herself how imaginative and energetic the girls are in polishing their oracy skills.
The government All-Party Parliamentary Group for Oracy recently published a report showing that the ability to express yourself clearly and confidently could have a major impact on other areas of life. There is concern that pupils not received the benefit of education in these areas could fall behind.
Angela said: "Guildford High School is helping address the issues raised by the APPG for Oracy. I heard the messages about how oracy might be considered as part of the testing regimen into to embed it more thoroughly across all schools; meanwhile GHS continues its efforts to provide resources for other schools to access and share the impact it is having.
"Thank you to everyone at the school for being such welcoming hosts."
