Angela joined a breakfast celebration of Apprenticeship Week organised by Surrey Federation of Small Businesses together with the Association of Learning Providers (ALPS) and the South East Skills and Apprenticeships Hub in Guildford.
The event took place at the Guildford Harbour Hotel & Spa and attendees heard from different business organisations about the benefits of apprenticeships, along with some of the issues faced under the current system, where university pathways still dominate.
Angela said: " It was interesting to hear from Julianne Ponan, recently made MBE, on her experiences and to meet with current apprentices adding value to their employers and learning vital skills on the job. The apprenticeship route is such a great opportunity for so many young people looking to get into work; we need to keep letting businesses know just how much they could be benefitting from it too."
