On 6 May Angela took part in a Cranleigh Flood Forum walkabout around the areas of flooding concern in Cranleigh. She was joined by Cranleigh Society, local Councillors, residents, the Environment Agency and Surrey County Council.
It was a very useful, helpful meeting where various areas of concern were viewed and actions agreed; in particular, trying to establish ownership of the land adjacent to the Brook along Ewhurst Road and ensuring that the owners are aware of their responsibilities in regard to maintenance (riparian ownership responsibilities). Work on the main grille at New Park Road corner with new signage is also planned, which is good.
Angela said: "These practical events are so important in getting all parties working together, so often the key to tackling flooding and drainage issues."
