Angela was pleased to be able to chair her first meeting of the Burpham Flood Forum at Burpham Village Hall. During the meeting, members talked about drainage and watercourse maintenance and issues, working through questions from the last meeting chaired by Angela's predecessor.
She would like to thank all of the agencies and partners who attended - Surrey County Council, Guildford Borough Council, National Trust, Environment Agency and Thames Water - as well as Burpham Community Association and Neighbourhood Forum. Many residents were present too, expressing their views and concerns.
Angela said: "Clearly the pandemic has impacted the degree to which these meetings have been possible and the extent to which actions can be taken.
"I'm optimistic that in the future, we will be able to follow up on more of the action points affecting people in Burpham and Merrow and I look forward to arranging various site visits with agencies and residents in the interim."
