Tormead School played host to Angela Richardson speaking to the Sixth Form students about her role as an MP and about local and national politics. The last time she visited in person, having "visited" virtually twice during lockdown, was during the election campaign in 2019, when the politics students gave her a taste of what I could expect in the House of Commons with some very probing questions.
This time, students wanted to know about the safety of women and girls, the Scottish Gender Bill, how to solve the current pressure on the NHS and also how politics impacts on personal values within the party system.
Angela said: "The young women of Tormead came up with some really topical and interesting subjects and never fail to hold me to account. Thank you for hosting me and I look forward to returning in the future."
