It was fantastic to visit Gosden House School in Guildford.
This is a school for young people and children with moderate learning difficulties and additional needs, which has been expanding its places and is attracting students from across Surrey.
It was lovely to meet Cindy, the Head Teacher, among many other members of staff. We discussed Gosden House School’s values and its specialism in creative arts, having been awarded the Artsmark Gold Award.
I especially enjoyed meeting and answering the questions of students who were democratically elected onto the School Council. Pupils explained to me how much they value the school and its teachers, their exciting possibilities for work experience, and their aspirations.
Students kindly gave me a tour of the whole school, where I was able to see parts of engaging lessons and the school’s facilities.
I am very grateful to the staff and students for having me.
