On Friday 26th January, I was pleased to visit Cranleigh C of E Primary School and meet Kate Pelazza, the Headteacher, to discuss community cohesion.
Several local stakeholders joined us for a productive meeting to talk about ways in which cohesion in the school and the Cranleigh community can be improved. I was pleased to hear about the important progress that the school is making in this regard and steps that it will take in future, as a result of this meeting.
We were joined by several attendees, including Nikki Batchelor and Angela Flanagan Brown at the Race Equality and Minority Achievement (REMA) team, Laura Snedden at Surrey Police, Cllr Liz Townsend, and Nicola Craven-Smith and Roy Woodhams, the Rector of St Nicholas Church.
There were lots of action points for us to take and I look forward to seeing these implemented.
I will speak to ministers about what funding is available to support schools and the police.
Thank you for having us and for arranging these welcome discussions, Kate.
