Angela had the pleasure of meeting with the Eaves family, daughters Emilia, Rhiannon and father Simon. Their mother and wife Pia was sadly taken by Pancreatic Cancer in September last year. She was a fitness instructor - active, healthy and a devoted mum to these impressive and lovely young women.
Pancreatic Cancer has the worst survival rate of the 20 most common cancers and fewer than 10% of people survive beyond five years - something that hasn't changed since the 1970s.
The family is doing an amazing walk from Billericay to Barry Island in honour of Pia - and themed around the show Gavin and Stacey that Pia loved so much - to raise funds for research. More than £50,000 of a £100,000 target has already been pledged.
Angela said: "People creating something wonderful and positive out of something so terrible are always special and the Eaves family is no exception. I will be following their progress on social media and sharing as they make their way across England and Wales, stopping in Westminster on the way."
