The level of learning and research at the University of Surrey has been recognised by the government with a £2m Strategic Priorities Grant from the Office for Students.
That grant is targeted directly at work to enhance the skills we need in our workforce at all levels and it is designed to improve student employability after graduation. It is also focused on Lifelong Learning and part-time learning; a really practical and welcome fund to equip young people with that they need to strengthen the local and regional economies when they enter the world of work.
Angela said: "The University of Surrey has always scored well in this regard - it is known as a university for jobs. I'd like to thank Michelle Donelan MP, the Minister for Higher and Further Education, who came to visit the university with me a few months ago. She and I were both struck by the purpose and energy of the students towards their education.
I'm delighted that this grant will enable the great work to continue - it's good news for everyone involved in higher education in Guildford and beyond."
