It was fantastic to welcome Kemi Badenoch MP, Secretary of State for Business and Trade, to Guildford High Street and Tunsgate.
Kemi came to visit local independent businesses which are contributing to the local economy and helping Guildford thrive.
Kemi and I visited Ben's Collector's Records on Tunsgate, during which we enjoyed spending lots of time talking to Ben, the owner. Ben’s store is an independent business which is visited regularly and greatly valued by its customers, with such a great choice of records available. If residents have any unwanted records, they can drop in or give Ben a call for a quote. Ben and his team are incredibly friendly and if you’re a fan of music, there’s a great choice of records available so I’d definitely recommend popping in.
After visiting the High Street, we stopped by at Charme Jewellery to discuss their business needs and how the government is supporting Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
These SMEs, among others, are supporting Guildford’s £5bn economy and bringing in jobs for residents. From professional services to retail and hospitality, I believe we are fortunate to have a small business sector that supports our town’s economic vibrancy.
Thank you for visiting Guildford, Kemi.
