It might have been raining, but it didn't dampen the spirits of everyone involved in the Worplesdon Flood Forum as they walked from Wood Street Village Green down the length of Frog Grove Lane to the Aldershot Road.
It's been an area of increased deep flooding over years, effectively cutting off the village and so a big focus on the agenda of the many meetings of the Forum.
Angela and the Forum try to identify land owners who have riparian ownership responsibilities and make sure that ditches are cleared, drains jetted and significant blockages like trees in the middle of rivers are dealt with.
Both Surrey County Council and the Environment Agency have undertaken significant work in this location in the last 6 months thanks to this Forum.
Angela was joined by Beatrice, an A level student on work experience, to see that part of the role of an MP is to spend time with residents on the ground, physically looking at the issues and bringing everyone together to solve them.
Angela was pleased to see the impressive work that Surrey County Council are doing in resurfacing the footpaths along Frog Grove Lane. It will make a huge difference to those with mobility scooters and pushchairs.
