Too many parts of Guildford constituency are still affected by flooding and Angela Richardson MP undertook a two-and-a-half mile walkabout last week to find out more about the issues in Worplesdon.
Angela chairs Flood Forums across Guildford from Worplesdon and Burpham to Cranleigh and Alfold. This time she began her work at Wood Street Village and was shown a number of flooding hotspots by local residents involved in campaigning on flooding issues.
"I'd like to thank everyone involved in the Worplesdon Flood Forum, including Worplesdon Parish Council for organising the walkabout today," said Angela.
"This has given me a further understanding of the issues residents face in this part of the constituency - many of them shared with other areas too.
"I continue to hold forum meetings to bring together everyone involved in managing flooding; the Environment Agency, Thames Waster, Surrey County Council and others. It's important that they stay engaged and we all continue to work together to tackle these problems, which if left unchecked can have such disastrous consequences on people's lives."
