It was a great delight for Angela to learn that The Yvonne Arnaud Theatre received another award from the Culture Recovery Fund - £250,000 to add to previous money received in the last round.
The Culture Recovery Fund is to help venues recover from the impact of COVID and more than £1 million was allocated to Guildford and Cranleigh during the last round.
Angela said: "Culture is so important to our area and it's good that the government recognises this. Guildford is the cultural centre of Surrey and draws people from many miles around."
Also receiving money in Guildford was MTech, which runs courses teaching children how to compose music through technology.
"Congratulations to both," said Angela. "I hope that the government's investment in our area continues so that we can look forward to our cultural venues thriving in the years ahead."
